Visitors Will Have Four Opportunities to Enjoy the Popular Train

OAKDALE, CA – Thanks to the Sierra Railroad, families, rail buffs and fans of the classic children’s book – The Little Engine That Could™ – will have four different opportunities to experience a full-size replica engine of the famous character when it visits northern California. The Little Engine That Could™ national tour will be making stops at the Sacramento RiverTrain, Sierra Railroad Dinner Train and Skunk Train.
Promoting the power of positive thought, the life-size replica locomotive, patterned after the original created by Watty Piper, is coming to the respective train stations for a wonderful family adventure. The special event features The Little Engine That Could™ train rides, costumed characters from the book, games, musical entertainment, storytelling, petting zoo, toy store, and much more. Fare: $15.
Dates and locations for The Little Engine That Could™ tour in Northern California:
- August 17-20 – Sacramento RiverTrain – Woodland (20 miles northwest of Sacramento)
- October 14-15 & 20-22 – Skunk Train – Willits (approximately 132 miles north of San Francisco)
- October 26- 29 – Sierra Railroad Dinner Train – Oakdale (90 miles east of San Francisco)
