SACRAMENTO RIVERTRAIN TO HOST U.S. ARMY RESERVE COMPANY

Welcome Home Banquet for 304th Tactical Psychological Operations Company

July 6, 2006

WOODLAND, CA – On Sunday, July 30 the Sacramento RiverTrain will welcome aboard members of the Sacramento-based 304th Tactical Psychological Operations Company (TPC) and their families for a special welcome home banquet. Forty-three members of the TPC recently returned home after serving year long tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo.

“We appreciate the generosity of the Sacramento RiverTrain operators to provide a venue for us to honor our soldiers and their families for their devotion to country and each other,” stated Major Aaron L. Davis, Commander of the 304th TPC. “The soldiers have integrated back into the community, returning to their families and resuming their jobs,” Davis added.

“It is our distinct pleasure to welcome these special guests for dinner aboard the Sacramento RiverTrain,” said Christopher Hart, President, Sacramento RiverTrain. “We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to thank these brave men and women for the sacrifices they have made on behalf of the United States,” continued Hart.

The 304th TPC’s Family Readiness Group, organizers of the July 30 homecoming, provide families and friends of deployed soldiers a network of support to help them through the difficulties faced when loved ones are overseas and inaccessible. Most of the deployed soldiers are from the Sacramento area, with a few from the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest.

The Sacramento RiverTrain, the newest dinner train in North America, runs east from Woodland towards West Sacramento along the Sacramento River and through rich agricultural land and the Yolo Wildlife Refuge. A highlight of the 28-mile excursion is crossing an 8,000-foot wooden trestle, the longest in the West.
